Thirteen years later Boy George recorded the song. Culture Club, the band he became worldwide famouse, then just split up and in 1987 he aimes for a solo career. George’s version is closer to Ken Boothe’s cover then Bread’s original. It becomes his only number 1 hit in the Uk as a solo artist.

The song has been covered by many artists. Olivia Newton-John in 1972, *NSYNC in 1998 and by Rod Stewart in 2006 all made a version of the song. In many styles the song stays upright.
