Mick Jackson / The Jacksons

History

Mick Jackson is born in 1947 in Engeland but he is living in Germany for the biggest part of his life. Mick is the singer-songwriter who wrote ‘Blame it on the boogie’ together with his brother David and Elmar Krohn in 1978. Without them knowing it their manager offered the song at the Midem -a music industry event in Cannes- to others. The management-team of ‘The Jacksons’ was present and came to hear the song. They decided to use the song.

Two versions at the same time

Because of a delay (…) in the production of the ‘German’ version both singles were released at the same time in the UK. This was called the ‘Battle of the boogie” in the British media. BBC only played the Jackson’s version and Capitol Radio played the original version exclusively.

There are interviews online wih Mick with this subject You see a man satisfied with the fact that he became financial independent because of the masterstroke of The Jackson’s management. Furthermore Mick coöperated in his carreer with David Knopfler, Eric Burdon, Barry Manilow en Lisa Stansfield.
